How it works

How a laboratory test works at Askabide

Information, preparation, specimen collection and identification, analysis, quality control, validation and report delivery.

Care pathway

From request to report

01

Information and appointment

We confirm the test, centre, preparation and sample type.

02

Collection and identification

The sample is collected, labelled and registered with traceability.

03

Analysis and control

It is processed at Askabide or referred when specialised technology is required.

04

Validation and email delivery

Results are reviewed before the report is issued. Askabide normally sends the report by email using the agreed delivery details.

Before attending

Before attending

01

Confirm preparation

Not every test requires fasting. Check medication, timing, menstrual cycle and specimen type.

02

Identification and traceability

Bring the requested details. The specimen is identified and recorded from the moment it is collected.

03

Turnaround and delivery

Timing depends on the test, controls, validation and whether referral or confirmation is required.
